New typical southern stock finish. A sand molded mid-red colour similar to Warnham Red Stock from Horsham. Sussex Red is typical of a traditionally molded product.
The method of producing bricks by sand coating a wooden mold and pressing the clay in gives a soft, rounded edge with a plain sanded face. The process of unmolding the brick leads to irregularities in the shape which is intentional and leads to characterful walls.
