Yellow bricks are typically found in and around the southeast of England particular in the Thames region.
This plain yellow is a through bodied yellow with occasional light spotting and is made using a special clay recipe and burning process that turns what would usually turn pink into a yellow. Currently in the UK only one major brick works - Wienerbegers Smeed Dean works (Sittingbourne) - produces a true yellow stock with the exception of Matclad.
Matclad London Yellow and yellow brick slips are a good alternative to the Smeed Dean products with the ability to offer similar products to most of their range using blending and batch manufacturing techniques.
